Rapid Deployment Catalog™
When we were market testing Rapid Deployment, a common theme we found among business owners
was a desire to “prepare” for a future e-commerce strategy without rushing into
it. Sometimes there are logistical concerns such as credit card acceptance, common carrier
shipping or a lack of staff to process smaller orders. Sometimes there are conflicting
policies regarding e-commerce with certain manufacturers. And of course, there is always the
issue of retail vs. wholesale pricing.
If you are considering a move to full e-commerce down the line, Rapid Deployment offers
you the ability to create an e-commerce site with the e-commerce toggled “off”
for either the whole catalog or any portion of it. This gives our clients the opportunity to
begin serving their customers in a real way, without rushing to full e-commerce. Your new web
site can go live quickly but you can take your time building your product catalog over a
period of time….perfect for situations where product images, good marketing
descriptions, product weights and other data fields may be incomplete in the short term but
highly desirable in the long term.
If desired, we can keep a basic shopping cart but re-label it as a quote so “add to
cart” becomes “add to quote” and “view cart” becomes “view
quote” After the checkout, your salesperson has everything they need to get back to the
prospective customer with your best price.
